Pink tackled head on the fat shaming comments thrown at her by social media users following her appearance with husband Carey Hart during the 30th annual Odyssey Ball of the John Wayne Cancer Institute Auxiliary held on Sunday at the Regent Beverly Wilshire, according to Huffington Post.

The singer and her husband attended the cancer benefit event to show their support to the efforts of their friend, Dr. Maggie DiNome, in seeking ways to alleviate the pain and suffering of those inflicted with cancer. Despite the noble cause that the occasion aimed to highlight, it appears that social media users are more concerned about the weight gain of Pink. Not one to shy away from comments and ridicule, the singer decided to respond to the body weight criticisms she received following the publication of her photos in the event.

"I can see that some of you are concerned about me from your comments about my weight," Pink posted in her official Twitter account. She then went on to further ascertain the social media critics that she is fully aware of the issue as she added, "You're referring to the pictures of me from last night's cancer benefit that I attended to support my dear friend Dr. Maggie DiNome." The singer shared that her friend was given the Duke Award during the event to honor her "tireless efforts and stellar contributions to the eradication of cancer."

With that said, Pink expressed her disappointment on the reaction of some social media users. "But unfortunately, my weight seems much more important to some of you," she said. "While I admit that the dress didn't photograph as well as it did in my kitchen, I will also admit that I felt very pretty. In fact, I feel beautiful," Pink reassured her fans and followers in her typical witty and humorous manner that she is aware of the weight she gained but remains proud and content with her body.

"So, my good and concerned peoples (sic), please don't worry about me. I'm not worried about me. And I'm not worried about you either," she said as a direct response to those who claim to be "worried" over the change in her body size. "I am perfectly fine, perfectly happy, and my healthy, voluptuous and crazy strong body is having some much deserved time off. Thanks for your concern. Love, cheesecake," the singer ended.
