Wide-eyed actress Amanda Seyfried surprisingly revealed that she prefers reading good old-fashioned books than reading stories from her iPad.

"The battery can die. The battery dies all the time," she told Fox News in an interview. "Books, books, I have to read books it's just so simple. You don't need to plug it in."

Seyfried stars in the new movie While We're Young with Ben Stiller and Naomi Watts, and she said it was a lot of fun being the young one on the set. The actress admitted that she was shocked at the idea that she is now older than some of the actors and actresses in Hollywood, because she feels so young and naïve.

In the movie, she got to play the younger version of herself. "It's always great when there's no consequences and I can run just around in my bare feet and just kind of feel like I don't know, just happier, and carefree, and it's always good to... you always hope that that character rubs off on you," she said.

Even as Seyfried clings to her youth, she said that it's inevitable for people to grow up. The thought of maturity might seem tough and intimidating to people, but she said that "it's the only way to be, it's the only direction."

She added that her life is actually much better once she started making mature decisions and thinking about other people than herself.

Of course, it is very hard to grow up and become a mature individual in Hollywood, said Seyfried. "I actually think it's a detriment to growing up for certain people. Certain actors stay kids forever because they're treated like it," she noted.

Seyfried said that celebrities who are treated as kids should not stand for it. According to her, they should realize that they are growing up and start making adult decisions because they are going to remain carefree and irresponsible if they are not careful.

"I'm only speaking from experience, so I realize it's really important to stake your claim in the adult world," she said.

Another pressure faced by most celebrities is the need to wear fashionable items, but that actually depends on who the celebrity is, said Seyfried. For her part, she feels the need to fit in whenever she's working, but when she's not in front of the camera, she does not feel the need to wear trendy clothes.
