Daniel Craig reportedly flew to New York over the weekend to undergo a minor surgery to remedy an injury involving his knee which he incurred while shooting certain scenes for Spectre, the latest James Bond installment, according to BBC News. The news of the actor's medical condition immediately went viral, prompting some fans and followers to worry over the future of the upcoming MGM and Sony project.

In an effort to quash the concerns of those eagerly awaiting the newest 007 film, the issue was addressed right away. The production house went on to clarify and highlight that Craig only underwent a "minor" surgical procedure, which indicates that there is no cause for anxiety over the movie's release date or plot.

"During a scheduled break, Daniel Craig had arthroscopic surgery to repair his knee injury. He will rejoin production on April 22nd at Pinewood [Studios, in Buckinghamshire]," explained a spokeswoman from Eon Productions following the speculations that the release of the upcoming James Bond installment might be postponed due to the injuries suffered by the main actor.

With this latest news involving the project, it appears that the fourth installment of Craig's stint as Agent 007 has been ridden with problems since the beginning. Page Six pointed out that even prior to the actual filming, Spectre already faced major issues. The report referred to two particularly difficult situations which involved the leakage of the draft of the movie's script online in December, which was brought about by the hacking attack against Sony Pictures that placed a number of stars and projects in jeopardy. Another major setback for the movie was the theft of nine Range Rovers, which were said to be used for the film. The vehicles were reported to be stored and stolen in Neuss, Germany.

Meanwhile, Roger Moore took to Twitter to express his concern over the welfare of the latest Bond actor. Moore, who was recently embroiled in a racism-related issue following his comments over Idris Elba's potential as the next actor to play the iconic Agent 007, injected his own brand of wit and humor in his reaction to the news. "Sorry to hear Daniel Craig has sprained his knee on set #Spectre. Being 007 is not without its hazards. I'm available to step in if needed," the UNICEF ambassador posted in his official social media account.
