Fox News host Chris Wallace offered his apology to Kelly Clarkson after making comments about her weight. Wallace was a guest on the radio show, ‘The Mike Gallagher Show,’ where Gallagher said of Clarkson, “Holy cow, did she blow up.” Wallace also added, “She could stay off the deep-dish pizza for a little while.”

Wallace and Gallagher made the inappropriate comments about the former ‘American Idol’ winner last Friday. Now, the ‘Fox News Sunday’ host released a statement to E! News, offering his apologies to Clarkson.

"I sincerely apologize to Kelly Clarkson for my offensive comment," Wallace stated. "I admire her remarkable talent and that should have been the focus of any discussion about her."

In addition, Gallagher issued an official statement on his website, expressing his regrets for making comments that resulted to ‘fat-shaming’ the 32-year-old pop star.

While both media personalities already made their apologies and are now drawing attention to Clarkson’s singing capabilities, Wallace’s Fox News co-host Greta Van Sustern recently shared a post on her website with which she expressed her disapproval regarding their “obnoxious guy-snickering.”

As Van Sustern called on Wallace to make an apology, many people were in agreement of her statements online.

Meanwhile, Clarkson has not made any response to these remarks as the award-winning singer already ignored weight-related criticisms in the past.

Last week, when she made a guest appearance on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’, Clarkson responded to body shaming comments made by TV personality Katie Hopkins, who criticized the music artist for having a bigger figure these days.

"We are who we are. Whatever size, and it doesn’t mean that we’re gonna be that forever,” the singer told DeGeneres.

Last Saturday, when Wallace and Gallagher’s body-shaming radio show interview went viral, Clarkson posted a photo on Instagram which merely suggested that the singer is currently focusing on more important matters in her life, including her loved ones.

On the April 1 episode of ‘American Idol’, Clarkson returned to the show 13 years after winning its first ever season. She performed twice on stage - the first performance featured her new single, ‘Heartbeat Song,’ and the second one with the special hit ‘At Last’ which she used when she first auditioned for ‘Idol.’
