The April DLC pack for Capcom's "Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate" features various contents including special items from the "Sonic the Hedgehog" franchise.

The content update is now available and can be downloaded for free.

Details of the April DLC and an accompanying video were unveiled by Capcom through the Unity Blog. Based on the clip, gamers can dress-up their Palicos in "Sonic" suits as well as other outfits. Aside from these, the DLC also comes with complete armor sets and new weapons.

The April DLC also comes with additional quests which allow players to take on new challenges in the game. For example, they can now choose to battle two dragons in the arena.

To get the latest DLC, gamers should log-in to the game using their Nintendo 3DS console. They will be able to view and download the April pack from the DLC menu of "Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate."

Capcom recently noted that due to a server maintenance procedure on April 4 and 5, the company's DLC server was shut down temporarily. Fortunately, it seems the server is now back up which means gamers can resume downloading the April DLC pack.

The arrival of "Sonic" on Capcom's "Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate" is part of Nintendo's efforts to bring its properties to other mediums, Cinema Blend reported. Last month, the March DLC for the game featured the protagonist from Nintendo's "The Legend of Zelda."

In addition, based on the status of the March DLC, it seems there are no expiration dates regarding Nintendo's properties on Capcom's role-playing game. In the blog post, Capcom reminded gamers that the March DLC is still available for download and "is not going anywhere."

"Monster Hunter 4" first debuted in Japan in September of 2013 as a Nintendo 3DS-exclusive. Its North-American and European counterpart, dubbed as "Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate," came out in February of this year.
