Justin Bieber, the Canadian pop singer is 'being roasted' by Comedy Central on Monday, March 30. He is the recipient of multiple American Music Awards, Teen Choice Awards, MTV Awards, and Billboard Music Awards. Comedy Central is an American television channel that features shows like ‘South Park,’ ‘Workaholics,’ and ‘Broad City.’
‘Comedy Central Roast’ is a TV special that makes fun of celebrities using a panel of guest stars and comedians. It puts a single celebrity on the hot spot and under public scrutiny with a fun twist. Comedy Central has in previous years roasted actor James Franco, TV personality Donald Trump, and actor Charlie Sheen.
According to ‘American Idol’ host Ryan Seacrest, it was all Justin’s idea. “Justin has been asking us for years to roast him,” says the network, “so we kept telling him to create some more material and we’re thrilled he listened.”
The roast will be hosted by Kevin Hart. The line-up of celebrities who will roast Bieber includes: Hannibal Buress, Chris D'Elia, Snoop Dogg, Natasha Leggero, Ludacris, Shaquille O'Neal, Jeff Ross, and Martha Stewart.
Bieber was discovered on Youtube by current manager Scooter Braun in year 2007. Braun was searching for new talent while viewing Youtube videos and accidentally clicked on one of Bieber’s performances. Bieber was soon signed by the R&B singer Usher’s Raymond Braun Media Group. Within a year, Bieber was assigned to L.A. Reid of The Island Def Jam Music Group.
Bieber identifies himself as a Christian. "I pray all the time. I pray two to three times a day. When I wake up I thank him for my blessings. I thank him for putting me in this position. And at the end of the day I get out my Bible. At home-school my tutor is Christian, so we go over Bible verses. It's something that keeps me grounded,”Bieber said in an interview with The Guardian in 2010.
