Development studio Cloud Imperium Games has unveiled new content for "Star Citizen" through update 1.1.

The game's latest patch comes with two new space vessels as well as improvements and changes to the game play, IGN reported.

In a post through the "Star Citizen" official website, the studio announced that the Aegis Dynamics Retaliator ship has been added to the game's Hangar Module. Also, gamers can now try out the Gladius Light Fighter in the spaceflight module Arena Commander.

Aside from the two ships, Cloud Imperium Games added new elements to boost the game's realistic space simulation theme. One of these is the new Landing System. This feature works with the heads-up display of the ship's targeting system. But instead of locating enemy vessels, it searches for landing zones.

Before attempting to land, though, players must request permission since some of the landing zones are governed by in-game organizations.

"For testing purposes, the landing zones in Free Flight have been set up as governed, meaning pilots should request permission to land," the studio wrote in the post.

"Obviously there is nothing preventing pilots from landing without permission, but they should expect to be punished if trying this in 'Star Citizen' - whether by monetary fine or, in extreme circumstances, death by automated turrets," Cloud Imperium Games continued.

When landing, players have the option do so manually or with the help of an automated system. Of course, the manual method is more challenging than the automated mode since players will have to rely only on their skills to land their ships safely.

Cloud Imperium Games noted that due to the changes delivered by update 1.1, gamers will have to re-install "Star Citizen" before playing the latest patch.

There is no exact release date yet for the commercial debut of "Star Citizen" but the studio is hoping to unveil the game sometime in 2016. But even though the game hasn't been officially released yet, gamers can test "Star Citizen" through the alpha modules Hangar and Arena Commander.
