Miles Teller, the actor who will portray Reed Richards also known as Mr. Fantastic in the upcoming Fantastic Four film, talks about the superhero scientists who will acquire their superpowers after their mission in space, saying that the film tried to "humanize" the characters in a way that has never been done before.

"We're making it our own, we're taking a lot from the 'Ultimate Fantastic Four' but I think we're humanizing these characters in a way that's never been done," he told MovieFone in an interview.

Teller shared that he did a lot of research after landing the role of Mr. Fantastic, especially since he was unfamiliar with the Fantastic Four world. It was his father's favorite comic book, he said, but Teller preferred to play video games growing up.

He did say that he collected comic books even though he did not read them because he thought these were "cool."

Teller is also unfamiliar with the whole creative process of the film, so he was quite amazed to finally see the trailer.

"When I saw the sizzle trailer, that was the first I had seen of it. I saw that at the same time as everyone else, literally. I was excited about it," he said, "Because when you're shooting a movie you can kind of get a sense of the tone of it from the director and how they're directing it, but in terms of how you shoot it, the lighting and everything, you're not aware of it."

He explained that he was just in a scene talking to another actor, so he cannot visualize anything else. However, the director and the rest of the visual effects technicians see everything that he and everybody else will only see after all the editing was done.

Teller said that after shooting for Fantastic Four, he got so addicted to being a part of the superhero universe. According to the actor, the more superhero stuff he does, the cooler it gets.

Josh Trank directed the rebooted Fantastic Four, but when asked if the director will be back for the sequel, Teller was noncommittal in his answer. He also said that he assumes Simon Kinberg will be handling it since he has a good grasp on how to create the right superhero universe. The actor added that the producer is really smart in terms of making new stories out of old ones.
