To prevent opposing forces from entering their bases, most players use a combination of barricades and cannons. However, players can easily go through this line of defense with the use of specific units.
For example, players can upgrade their barracks and create strong Giants. Aside from their strength, Giants have better resistance against cannon-fire than weaker units such as Barbarians.
However, players should not rely on Giants alone. They can supplement their attacking force with Wall Breakers, which are bomb-carrying skeletons, and an aerial force such as Balloons to take out the cannons and other enemy units.
It will also help their forces if they are accompanied by Healers to prolong the lives of their units.
For a more strategic approach, players can avoid attacking a fortress head-on. They can flank the enemy by attacking from the side or any part of the base that has a weak spot. However, before doing so, they should make sure that the sides of the base are not lined with bombs or other traps.
