LG confirmed that the Android 5.0 Lollipop update has arrived for its line of budget smartphones, the LG90 Dual.

The update first arrived for users in India. LG explained that the Lollipop update will also be released to other regions gradually in the coming weeks, NDTV reported.

The company added that aside from the LG90 Dual, other devices from LG's L-series will also receive the update. LG however, did not provide an exact date as to when that will happen.

LG unveiled the LG90 Dual in March of last year. It is powered by the Snapdragon 400 chip and sports a 4.7-inch display with a 540x960p resolution. It has 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage. The smartphone supports a microSD slot that can add up to 32GB to its memory.

Originally, the LG90 Dual came with Android 4.4 Kit Kat. The debut of the Lollipop on the LG90 Dual comes with various features and improvements such as a multi-language support, better color quality, improved audio, stronger Internet connectivity, additional keyboard accessory support and the Kill Switch system.

Aside from the other L-series devices from LG, the Android 5.0 Lollipop is also expected to arrive to the HTC One M7 and M8 through the provided AT&T. This was confirmed by Jason Mackenzie, the president of HTC Americas, during the company's video presentation for the Uh Oh replacement program, according to International Business Times.

Mackenzie did not mention the exact release date of the update for the HTC devices. However, he noted that the update's arrival is nearing its final stages and One M7 and One M8 users can expect to see it in their smartphones before March ends.

Apart from the Lollipop's arrival to the One M7 and One M8 devices, the executive also confirmed during the presentation that the company's latest release, the One M9, will not get a Google Play Edition.
