Bringing his ‘Zoolander’ character to the next level, Ben Stiller strutted his stuff on the runway at the Paris Fashion Week with his co-star Owen Wilson to announce the sequel to their 2001 comedy film.

Channeling their fashion model characters Derek Zoolander and Hansel McDonald, the two actors took to Paris and appeared on the Valentino Women’s Collection Fall/Winter 2015-2016 Fashion Show to announce that ‘Zoolander 2’ is in the works.

Stiller also confirmed the movie news on Instagram where he shared a photo of himself and Wilson; the post was captioned with: “Apparently Derek and Hansel have come to terms on #Zoolander 2."

Another image from the Valentino show was shared on the same photo-sharing social networking service, with the two actors posing next to Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.

In addition, Paramount Pictures also tweeted that the upcoming sequel will hit theaters on February 12, 2016. On this same day, 20th Century Fox is also expected to release its film adaptation of the ‘Deadpool’ comic book while Lionsgate/Summit may unveil ‘Gods of Egypt’, a mythological adventure movie.

Speculations about a ‘Zoolander’ sequel have been making the headlines for quite some time now, with entertainment website Deadline reporting that Penelope Cruz has been set to join the cast.

Rumors are also stating that Will Ferrell will be reprising his role as the designer Mugatu since the character was included in the sequel’s script. However, his actual appearance on ‘Zoolander 2’ is yet to be confirmed. Justin Theroux has already written the script and will be taking on directorial duties.

Filming for ‘Zoolander 2’ will reportedly be carried out in Europe, particularly in Rome, as announced by Stiller several weeks ago.
There have been limited details when it comes to the sequel’s plot; however, it is known that Derek and Hansel will be coming back to the modeling world after going away for a long time.

In an interview with MTV, Stiller shared his beliefs about going in and out of the fashion world in relation to the upcoming ‘Zoolander’ sequel.

“I think the idea in the beginning of the movie is that it's 10 years later, and Derek and Hansel are literally forgotten,” the 49-year-old actor said. “Nobody remembers who they are, so they have to reinvent themselves."
