Game publisher Capcom mentioned that "Street Fighter V" might arrive in spring of next year for the PlayStation 4 and PC platforms.

The revelation was made through the Capcom-Unity blog.

In the post, the company updated gamers regarding the "Street Fighter" merchandise that they can purchase in the recently held PAX East gaming convention. The products advertised by the company include t-shirts and drawstring bags.

"Everyone is fired up for 'Street Fighting V' coming to the PS4 and PC next spring," Capcom wrote. "Until then, you can sport the official SFV key art T-shirt, which features Ryu in a heroic pose, for $25."

Aside from the blog post, the online shopping sites Amazon and Best Buy listed that the game will be released on March 31, 2016, according to Game Spot.

However, an update has been made to the Capcom blog and the phrase "next spring" has been deleted from the post. In addition, a spokesperson from Capcom clarified to IGN that the time period revealed in the post may not be the game's final release date.

Based on the statements of the company representative, the dates listed by Amazon and Best Buy may be tentative too.

Details about the fifth installment of the popular fighting game series were unveiled last year during the PlayStation Experience event. During the convention, Yoshinori Ono, the producer from Capcom, announced that "Street Fighter V" will debut for the PS4 and PC.

"It was clear, to match the passion of 'Street Fighter' fans around the world, we need the combined strength of both Capcom and PlayStation," Ono said in a statement according to IGN.

Adam Boyes, the vice president of Sony's Publisher and Developer Relations, stated that the PS4 is the only console that the game will be released for. As of the moment, the only confirmed characters for the upcoming game are Ryu, Chun-Li, M. Bison and Charlie Nash.
