Good news for Wolverine and Hugh Jackman fans: there is finally news about the upcoming Wolverine movie!

The third Wolverine film will bring director James Mangold and Australian actor Jackman again in 2017, and the director has tweeted a confirmation that production will start early next year. However, there is still no title for Wolverine 3, according to Screen Rant.

Jackman has earlier hinted that Wolverine 3 might be his last time to take up Wolverine's claws, since the role is physically demanding and many other superhero roles have been passed on to younger actors.

He was almost replaced as well in X-Men: Days of Future Past, and no word has been out yet regarding his involvement in X-Men: Apocalypse. But the actor has been working hard to get into shape and fans will soon find out if he really is involved since X-Men: Apocalypse will start shooting in Montreal next month.

It also seems like things are looking up for the actor since Fox took over the X-Men franchise. There are now talks that he will make a cameo in the Deadpool movie with stars Ryan Reynolds and a possible cross-over in the rebooted Fantastic Four movies.

Since then, Jackman has found a renewed vigor with his character and even expressed intent on playing Wolverine until the very end. After watching Michael Keaton's Birdman, he had a revelation:

"I said to my wife, 'The moral is that I should never stop playing Wolverine. I've got to find a way to keep playing him until I die.' I know that someday they'll recast the role with another actor," he said. "I'd be happy if the role was eventually recast. It would mean that it had become iconic."

Whoever will play Wolverine in X-Men: Apocalypse is guaranteed to star in the third Wolverine film though, since there is a direct connection between the story of X-Men: Apocalypse and Wolverine 3.

"There are some very exciting things about integrating the whole X-Men world, including the Wolverine movie. There's some really cool things going on," Jackman said.

The actor prefers to remain secretive about his future superhero appearances but given his heavy workouts and knowledge about the upcoming film, it seems like he is preparing himself for another round as the Wolverine.

Wolverine 3 is scheduled for release on March 2017. Fantastic Four will open on August 7, 2015, Deadpool on February 12, 2016, X-Men: Apocalypse on May 27, 2016, Gambit on October 7 2016, and Fantastic Four 2 on July 14, 2017. There might be another X-Men film on July 13, 2018.
