At long last, a positive update regarding the status of Amanda Bynes has been announced recently as her lawyer shared to the concerned public news of her "doing well," according to a report from People.

In a statement given by David Esquibias, Bynes' lawyer, to the said publication, he revealed that his client has been steadily improving in the past months. "Amanda is doing well," he shared.

The attorney revealed that the DUI case against the actress filed last September, which could be recalled to have caused Bynes to face probation violation charges, was dismissed.

The announcement by Esquibias was further confirmed by a source close to the family who disclosed that the Nickelodeon actress is "doing much better" compared with her physical, emotional, and psychological status months ago. Moreover, the said source revealed that Bynes now has her own living space, an apartment, which possibly contributed to her becoming "much happier."

"She and her parents are getting along and Amanda is clear-headed, more focused and has more independence," the source added.

On Tuesday, a judge from Ventura County in California decided to extend the time by which the star will remain under her parents' conservatorship. The extension was declared to last until June 23, which signifies that both her mother Lynn Bynes and father Rick Bynes will remain in control of her medical and financial decisions. The decision was made in a closed discussion conducted in the chambers of the said judge.

Even prior to Tuesday's decision, Lynn and Rick have been authorized to take control of the aforementioned expenses since July 2013. Court documents reveal that the order was made in accordance with the diagnoses that pointed out the actress' display of evident signs pertaining to the mental disorders schizophrenia and bi-polar disorder. Lynn, her mother, justified the need in court by alluding to the fact that Bynes is a "substantial risk to herself, to others, and to property."

Bynes made the headlines in the previous years due to her erratic and troublesome behavior. The public became alarmed of her psychiatric status following her threats to murder her own parents, albeit said jokingly, which she made right after she posted in Twitter that her father sexually molested her as a child.
