Rapper and record producer Kanye West announced that he is currently working on his own video game.

During an interview with the radio program The Breakfast Club on Power 105.1, the 37-year-old artist said the game is based on his song "Only One," IGN has learned.

The single was released in December of 2014 in collaboration with the Beatles' Paul McCartney. Like the song, West said the game will serve as a tribute to his mother, Donda West, who passed away in 2007.

According to the rapper, the main character of the game is his mother. The game play involves traveling across the various gates of Heaven.

"Right now I'm working on a video game for 'Only One,'" West said during the radio program. "The idea is that it's my mother going through the gates of Heaven and you have to bring her to the highest gates of Heaven by holding her to the light."

West didn't reveal the official title of the game but said that he and a team of developers have been working on the game for six months already. He also didn't mention which platforms the game is being designed for or when it will be officially released.

His mother, aged 58, died in November of 2007, the Examiner reported. According to medical reports, Donda West died of a heart attack and other complications caused by her plastic surgery. Before her death, West underwent liposuction and breast reduction procedures.

Doctors said her heart attack was triggered by a health condition that was worsened by the effects of the operations.

After her death, Arnold Schwarzenegger, who was the governor of California at that time, signed and passed the Donda West Law in 2009. Under this legislation, patients are required to submit medical clearance before going through cosmetic surgery procedures.
