American actor Evan Peters did not want to give out too many details about X-Men: Apocalypse, but when he was asked if his character Quicksilver would still be in the movie, he tried to be evasive but indirectly confirmed his involvement.
"I think so, yes. I assume it as well, but I don't know what I'm supposed to say and not supposed to. I haven't seen a script," he told I Am Rogue.
His character was apparently such a hit on X-Men: Days of Future Past that Apocalypse producer and co-writer Simon Kinberg confirmed that Quicksilver "would absolutely be back for the next X-Men movie."
Peters appeared in the movie only for a few minutes, but his character Quicksilver played such a pivotal role to Professor Xavier's mission that it would not have been a success without him.
While they were trying to get Magneto out of prison, they were confronted and outnumbered by prison guards. But because of Quicksilver's quick thinking and action, they managed to escape. Quicksilver executed his counter-attack so effortlessly, and with the right touch of humor that many audiences deemed his "fight scene" their favorite.
Director Bryan Singer has been in full swing on the pre-production phase of the film, and has been actively giving updates on his Instagram and Twitter accounts.
One of the most recent announcements was that Kodi Smit-McPhee would be joining the X-Men cast as Nightcrawler.
Meanwhile, Sophie Turner would be the new incarnation of Jean Grey, while Tye Sheridan would be Cyclops and Alexandra Shipp would be Storm.
Other actors that would be appearing include James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, Jennifer Lawrence, Ian McKellan and Oscar Isaac as the title villain Apocalypse.
Simon Kinberg, Dan Harris, and Michael Dougherty will be writing the script.
X-Men: Days of Future Past, as well as X-Men and X2: X-Men United were all directed under the helm of Singer. The director brought new life to the franchise with Days of Future Past since it utilized the time-travelling aspect to its story, and saw the original X-Men characters and their younger counterparts working together towards the same end.
The movie will be released on May 27, 2016.
A different actor will be playing Quicksilver in director Joss Whedon's Avengers: Age of Ultron. Audiences will have to wait and see who between Peters or Aaron Taylor-Johnson will make the better Quicksilver.
