The latest episode of NCIS, titled Cabin Fever, is reported to showcase a very emotional and heart-rending plot as NCIS Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs, played by Mark Harmon, attempts to console his friend, FBI Special Agent Tobias Fornell, portrayed by Joe Spano, as the latter deals with the death of his wife, who was coincidentally the NCIS' team leader's ex-spouse as well.

Apart from this emotional story, which was proclaimed to feature "some really brilliant moments between Mark Harmon and Joe Spano," the NCIS team will experience a déjà vu following the return of Sergei Mishnev, played by Alex Veadov, according to Cartermatt.com.

The explosion at a summit dedicated to discuss issues on global terror, which consequently caused the untimely death of Diane Sterling, Fornell's wife, prompted the NCIS team to look into the potential involvement of Sergei.

Sergei's character came in earlier this season as a mercenary who has a beef against Gibbs. His hatred for Harmon's character was rooted from the death of his close friend, Ari Haswari, portrayed by Rudolf Martin. The death of Ari was caused by his involvement in terrorist activities, which evidently endangered the lives and properties of countless innocent people.

Although the main target of Sergei's loathing and animosity is Gibbs, the mighty team leader opted to sit this one out for a while and chose to focus on extending a helping hand to Fornell instead. The two will be seen hanging out inside the cabin, where Gibbs will attempt to wrestle with the emotional and psychological issues plaguing his friend.

Unsurprisingly, the FBI agent reacted adversely to this method. Gary Glasberg, the showrunner and producer of the show, shared that the two will "hash out some of the issues they're both facing because of that [Diane's death] loss."

Bethany Rooney, the highly sought after director of numerous hit small screen series such as Hart of Dixie, Criminal Minds, Pretty Little Liars, and Drop Dead Diva, served as the director for fifteenth episode of NCIS Season 12. Meanwhile, Scott Williams who wrote episodes for Castle, Bones, Without a Trace, and Miami Medical, handled the script for this episode.

Cabin Fever will be aired on February 17, Tuesday, at 7 PM on CBS.
