The newly released trailer for Pitch Perfect 2 is nothing but a barrel of laughs, starting with Fat Amy, played by actress Rebel Wilson, when she performed in front of no other than the President of the United States and had a wardrobe malfunction.

This mishap disqualified the Barden Bellas from the competition, and the only way they can get back is if they win the world championship contest, a competition that has remained elusive for any American team.

Director Elizabeth Banks earlier revealed the movie's plot details to Yahoo!, saying that the girls will prepare for the acapella competition while dealing with personal struggles.

"I won't say anything about that relationship, but the girls are now graduating seniors. They're coming to the end of their time as Bellas and figuring out how to sort of leave the next and the comfort of each other's friendship and figure out what they're going to do with the rest of their lives," she said.

Banks teased that they have a lot of great cameos in the movie, including authentic acapella groups such as Pentatonix and the Filharmonic, Penn Masala, who do all their own singing and dancing.

"They're amazing," she said. "It's all about authenticityin the acapella world. We really want to honor that and honor the people who are really doing it out there who we're inspired by when we make the movie."

The first movie was already such a standalone phenomenal success that there really was no need to create a sequel, but Banks said that people have already fallen in love with the characters and are desperate to find out what will happen to them.

"The only reason ever to make a sequel is to spend more time with the characters that people love, to tell more of their story. And I love the Barden Bellas," she said.

The director also said that they are not competing with the success of the first movie, especially with the "Cups" song which she described as like "lightning in a bottle."

"Our expectation is just to go out and make a good movie," admitted Banks.

Aside from Wilson, other cast of the movie Pitch Perfect 2 would include Anna Kendrick, Hailee Steinfeld, Brittany Snow, Alexis Knapp, Katey Segal, and Anna Camp. Other stars include Skylar Astin, Hana Mae Lee, Adam Devine, and Ben Platt.

The movie is slated for release both in the US and the UK on May 15, 2015.
