CW’s ‘The Flash’ will be putting forward a female version of DC Comics’ Bug-Eyed Bandit as former ‘The Walking Dead’ star Emily Kinney was recently cast to take on a villainous guest role.
Traditionally a male antagonist to challenge The Atom, Kinney will give the character a feminine spin as she has been set to appear in Episode 18 titled ‘All Star Team-Up’ as Brie Larvan.
With the episode featuring a crossover with ‘Arrow’, Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh) and Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards) head over to Central City to seek help for his A.T.O.M. exosuit.
As a self-absorbed tech expert, Brie is known for causing chaos in Central City. Following her arrival in town, Felicity gets to know Brie as her main adversary, and the two females take on each other with a head-to-head battle.
Aside from ‘The Flash’, Kinney has also been set to appear on one of the upcoming episodes on ABC’s ‘Forever.’
Meanwhile, Kinney’s fellow former ‘Walking Dead’ star David Morrissey has also been cast for the upcoming second season of ‘Extant’, one of CBS’ summer drama series.
The 50-year-old English actor will take on a recurring role as General Tobias Shepherd, known as the Head of the Global Security Commission. Morrissey will appear in the series alongside regulars Halle Berry and Jeffrey Dean Morgan.
In last Sunday’s episode of ‘The Walking Dead’, Morrissey appeared briefly as one of the dead characters (The Governor) who were shown in a scene that was supposed to be a hallucination.
For other upcoming projects, Morrissey will appear in and executive produce ‘The Driver’, a drama adaptation by Showtime focusing on the BBC One thriller miniseries of the same title.
Meanwhile, the midseason premiere of ‘The Walking Dead’ pulled in 15.6 million viewers last Sunday night. So far, AMC's zombie apocalypse series has been recognized as the most-watched series on cable in the U.S. this 2015.
Compared to the season premiere last October with which 17.3 million individuals watched, the number of viewers for this midseason premiere is relatively down. Nonetheless, it is a better figure compared to the 14.8 million viewers who watched the midseason finale last November.
