"World of Warcraft" developer Blizzard Entertainment announced that it has added new content to the game series' latest expansion, "Warlords of Draenor," according to Game Spot.
The latest addition will let players of the popular PC massively-multiplayer online role-playing game to participate in a mini racing game.
The new feature is currently available at the 'World of Warcraft' Public Test Realm. For this version, the races are held in the game's fictional island of Darkmoon Faire.
Based on the video posted by YouTube user zetzek, the players' characters use racing mounts to participate in the races, which are divided into several laps. In each lap, players will have to go through the course to reach special posts, Kotaku reported.
Along the course are various obstacles such as electrical wires that can slow the characters down. However, there are also power-ups which players can use to boost their speed. They can also use these to jump across long distances.
Kotaku noted that allowing a number of players race against each other and use various weapons to win matches will make the mini game feel like Nintendo's go-kart racing game "Mario Kart."
The mini racing game is Blizzard's latest addition to the "World of Warcraft" after the introduction of the selfie feature. Released with Patch 6.1, players will be awarded with a selfie camera after completing the level 100 mission titled Field Photography.
To use the camera, players simply click on the item from their inventory panel and the screen will automatically turn to face their characters. Players can then manipulate the angle of the camera using the controls.
When taking a snapshot, the characters will automatically create poses and facial expressions that are similar to real-world selfies.
"World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor" first debuted in Nov. 13 of last year. The expansion pack was released for the Microsoft Windows and OS X platforms.
