Twilight fans rejoice. The movie franchise is back and this time in short films.
Yes, the sparkling vampires are back, and this time, they will be in a project dubbed, "The Storytellers: New Voices of Twilight Saga. The short films will be comprised of six screenplays that will feature the stunningly gorgeous vampires of Twilight, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Here are the lucky writers whom Twilight Saga Stephenie Meyer handpicked herself:
"Consumed" - Jane and Alec's story by Megan L. Reese and Cullyn Doerfler
"The Groundskeeper" - Alice's story and how she became a vampire by Sarah Turi Boshear
"We've Met Before" - Alice and Jasper's first meeting by Thea Green
"Turncoats" - a story about Carlisle and Garrett during the Revolutionary War by Lindsey Hancock Williamson
"Sunrise" - a story about Benjamin by Alanna Smith
"The Mary Alice Brandon File" - a story about Alice's human life by Kailey and Sam Spear
The competition also includes characters, screenplay outlines, director pitch (ongoing phase), short film (next phase), apart from the screenplay category. All the awards that were part of "The Storytellers" project can be seen here.
The entries only had one criteria, which is for the screenplay to focus on a Twilight character from The Twilight Saga: The Official Illustrated Guide. The plot should be when Bella moved to Forks and met Edward, and of course, how she has changed his life.
And what's in store for the grand prize winner apart from fame and possible fortune? Nothing less than a sweet 2015 Volvo XC90 fit for a Cullen.
Volvo had also announced that those who will cast their vote for the contest can get a chance to win a Volvo XC60 Crossover as part of the "The Storytellers: New Voices of the Twilights Series Drive to Dream Sweepstakes."
Meyer worked with Volvo, Lionsgate, Facebook, and Women in Film for the project. Female directors and writers at least 13 years old submitted their 1,200-word original stories for the short film.
The stories had to evolve around a Twilight character, and the plot would be the Twilight Universe.
It's been years since we heard from the Cullens and we cannot wait to see them again.
