Apart from the team's investigative skills and strategies, the fourteenth episode of NCIS Season 12 will also feature flashbacks of Anthony "Tony" DiNozzo's time in school, a synopsis provided by TV Guide revealed.

The sneak peek, which was aired by CBS on February 3, also revealed that NCIS probationary special agent Eleanor "Ellie" Bishop, played by Emily Wickersham, will be back on the show. She will be inviting the entire team over in her home for a special dinner.

The group will be joined by her husband, NSA Attorney Jake Malloy, played by actor Jamie Bamber, which could signify an important announcement or change in the show.

The episode, which is titled "Cadence," opens with the discovery of the body of a murdered Marine. Although this is hardly unusual for the team, the mystery is rooted from the picture clasped on the victim's hand.

The person in the said photograph was a student of the military school Tony went to as a teenager: the Remington Military Academy. Further investigation revealed that the victim not only went to the same military institution but also held a scholarship there.

Leroy Jethro Gibbs, portrayed by Mark Harmon, delegated Tony and returning agent Bishop to visit the academy. The assignment pushed Tony to walk down memory lane as he once again trekked the paths he took during his stay there as a youngster.

While scouting the area, the two found a photo of Tony as a teenager at the academy. Although Bishop aptly described the young Tony as "dashing," it appeared that the latter was not amused with the trip.

A quick flashback was shown, which featured Tony addressing a younger version of Gerald Tanner, played by Steve Harris. Tony was seen claiming that he does not abide well to rules and regulations as he talked to his mentor back then. One of the more entertaining parts of the flashback was Gibbs finishing Tony's statement as the latter shared that he had to "prepare psychologically."

The upcoming episode is scheduled to air on February 10, Tuesday, 7 p.m. EST on CBS.
