The latest episode of "The Flash," titled Crazy For You, not only focused on a new villain, aptly called Peek-a-Boo, but also finally shed some light on the somewhat gloomy dating life of its lead characters, according to a post from Cartermatt.com.
The episode introduced Shawna Baez, played by guest star Britne Oldford, who is also known as Lashawn, or Peek-a-Boo to the comic book lovers and fans. Lashawn, who initially wanted to trek the same heroic path as The Flash when she first discovered her powers, turned to the life of crime following the sickness of her father.
On Tuesday's episode, she portrayed the role of someone who would be more than willing to do anything for the love of her life: the convict Clay Parker, played by another guest star, Micah Parker.
Lashawn used her meta-human teleportation powers to break into Iron Heights, take her boyfriend with her, and escape into the night. Although she wanted to leave right away, her boyfriend informed her that he still needed to pay a certain amount of money he owed to finally get rid of the death warrant over his head.
The pair decided to rob an armored truck filled with money to obtain the much needed cash to guarantee Parker's safety. The two would have gotten away with the crimes, but "The Flash" managed to block their escape as their vehicle went in a tunnel.
Earlier in the episode, the superhero learned that Lashawn could only teleport when there is light. She needs to see the place where she is going next, so the decision to block the couple's escape vehicle inside a tunnel worked very well for "The Flash." He then began knocking out all the lights and went to the car to finally arrest Lashawn.
The Flash's alter-ego, Barry Allen, also decided to go out and have a karaoke night with Caitlin Snow in an effort to get over their abysmal love lives. This part of the story appeared to lighten the entire episode as Barry showcased his vocal talent by taking the stage with a very drunk Caitlin and singing "Summer Nights" from the film Grease.
Although Caitlin failed to find a new romantic interest during their night out, Barry had a more fortunate experience as he met Linda Park, played by Malese Jow, who works as a sports reporter in Central City Pictures News.
The two exchanged numbers, and Barry successfully asked her out. Later on, he introduced Linda to Iris West Allen, his best friend and romantic interest since the season started. Iris' reaction to the idea of Barry's dating news appeared to have surprised her, which unsurprisingly reignited romantic speculations between her and the superhero.
Meanwhile, the next episode titled "The Nuclear Man," will be directed by Glen Winter, and written by Andrew Kreisberg and Katherine Walczak.
