In the latest episode of NCIS Los Angeles, G. Callen and Samuel "Sam" Hanna took on roles as owners of a food truck business in Mexico for their undercover mission to locate the origin of an anthrax poisoning incident.

In addition, the pair aimed to thwart the possibility of the villains launching a massive bioterrorism attack in the city, as revealed in a report published in Cartermatt.com.

In an effort to make their business more authentic, Sam pushed for the idea that the food truck should only serve vegan food. This was met with quite an adamant reproach from Callen, who wanted to pursue a cheeseburger joint instead. Practicalities and other factors were extensively discussed by the pair, and Sam eventually won the debate.

Surprisingly, this concept became a hit among the locals in their undercover area which caused their faux business to actually have a following. Their stint did not last long, however, as the mafia they were investigating eventually discovered their charade.

Meanwhile, Marty Deeks ventures out on another superhero mission to exert every possible effort to bring back together three generations of men who became estranged due to the involvement of a drug cartel governing the border of the United States and Mexico.

Although the entire team worked hard to fulfill this mission, Deeks was the most affected by the setbacks and obstacles that came their way due to his emotional commitment to reunite the family. His determination to make good with his promise to the men veered the episode away from the extremely serious topic of biological warfare, which was highly appreciated by the fans and followers of the show.

Kensi Blye, the love interest of Deeks, also joined him in his mission. When the team was split up to better cover the bases, Sam and Callen were designated to remain in Mexico despite protests from Deeks. The episode also further pushed both Kensi and Deeks together towards a more romantic side of their relationship. The couple eventually ended up saving the grandson of the family Deeks swore to reunite.

The anthrax angle of the episode ended up with a phenomenal gun fight in the helipad of a building, while Deeks' rescue mission served to be a tearjerker for some viewers. In addition, the Deeks-Kensi romantic relationship provided some swoon-worthy moments during the show. One of those instances was when Deeks staked his life to protect Kensi saying afterwards that, "this is why you never fall in love."
