Sony announced through the PlayStation blog that it has released new games through its latest subscription service, the PlayStation Now (PS Now).
The service, which was launched earlier in January for PlayStation 4 owners, allows users of Sony's next-gen console to enjoy games released on other PlayStation platforms.
The games, which were not made available for the PS4 during their original releases, were launched on Tuesday.
One of the games announced by Sony for the PS Now is the HD version of "God of War II". First released in 2007 for the PlayStation 2 and 3, the game follows the great warrior Kratos as he goes on a quest to take on various mythological beings and claim his revenge on Zeus.
Another game unveiled by Sony is the 2009 third-person shooter adventure "Uncharted 2: Among Thieves". In the second installment of the "Uncharted" series, main character Nathan Drake travels to the Himalayas in search of Shangri-La.
Aside from "God of War II" and "Uncharted 2", PS Now subscribers will also be able to play the sci-fi action game "Red Faction: Armageddon", "Galaga Legion DX" from Namco Bandai Games and the 2D arcade-style Japanese fighting game "Arcana Heart 3".
PS 4 owners can subscribe to PS Now through a monthly plan priced at $19.99. Or they can opt to avail of the three-month package which costs $44.99, which is equivalent to around $15.00 a month.
Currently, PS NOW is only available for PS4 owners. However, Peter Jamshidi, the director of marketing of the game-streaming service, clarified in the blog's comments section that Sony is working on bringing the service to other PlayStation platforms.
"We are working on officially launching subscription on [PS] Vita, as well as on PS3, [PlayStation TV], and 2014 Sony TVs soon," he wrote. "Also, for those who subscribe on the PS4 now, note that you can play your subscription games for free on these other PS Now enabled devices by navigating to them in the rental menu."
