The simulation game ran by "Madden NFL 15" came close to accurately predicting the results of the recent Super Bowl XLIX, according to CNET.

The video of the simulation, which was released by publisher Electronic Arts, almost matched the highlights of the game between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks.

In the "Madden" game, the halftime score was at 17-14. But in the actual event, the two teams were tied at 14. Surprisingly, though, the simulation game that the match ended with the Patriots beating the Seahawks at 28-24, the same score and outcome of Super Bowl XLIX, IGN reported.

Also, in the actual event, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady made four touchdown passes at 328 yards, which is very close to the 335 yards prediction made by the "Madden" simulation.

The game was also able to predict that Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman will score the winning touchdown and caught eight passes at 106 yards. During the Super Bowl event, Edelman completed nine passes for 109 yards.

Aside from game stats, "Madden" was also correct in naming Brady as this season's MVP.

The only prediction missed by "Madden" was the first touchdown score made by the Patriots. In the video game, tight end Rob Gronkowlski completed the first touchdown pass thrown by Brady for the Patriots. In the actual sporting event, it was wide receiver Brandon LaFell who snatched the first score for the team.

The first installment of the "Madden" series is "John Madden Football", which was released in June 1 of 1988. In 2004, the series started to feature simulation games for upcoming Super Bowl events. The recent release from "Madden" marks the franchise's 12th simulation for the popular sporting event.

Out of the 12 events, "Madden" was able to correctly predict the results of nine games. This year's prediction is the most accurate simulation made by the game developers.
