With regular reports on the Samsung Galaxy S6 being released online, the newest piece of information suggested that two units of the smartphone have been released to be tested and evaluated. Such units come with model number SM-G920A and feature a 5-inch display, slightly smaller than the Samsung Galaxy S5.
A new report also claimed that the device will come with a design that follows that of Apple’s iPhone 6.
Antonio Monaco, a Twitter user, shared an image that supposedly pointed out the S6 blueprint, showing a phone that has curved side edges and bears a resemblance to the iPhone 6.
Specifically, the home button shown in the supposed S6 blueprint is more circular than that of the S5. The device will also reportedly come with a micro-USB port, various sensors on top of the display, and buttons for volume adjustment on the left.
Running the Android 5.0 Lollipop, the upcoming Galaxy S6 may come with a Quad HD display and a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. It may also feature an impressive 20-megapixel rear-facing camera.
While the South Korean company has soared to the top of the smartphone market, Samsung faces hard competition from Apple, which launched the wide-screened iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus last year, as well as from increasingly popular brands such as Xiaomi and Huwaei.
Users are then looking forward to Samsung bringing on unique and noteworthy features and designs for the Galaxy S6. Being referred to as “Project Zero”, the upcoming device may be made from scratch, particularly from metal or glass for its front and back, and not follow the design of its predecessor.
Details have also been revealed that the S6 will make its debut on March 2 at the Mobile World Congress. However, in the company’s most recent financial report, Samsung indicated that it will place emphasis on boosting sales and enhancing business performance by putting forward the Galaxy A series and other new product lineups.
Coming off as new budget-friendly phones made of metal, the Galaxy A3 and A5 will make its debut in February. The Galaxy A7 and the mid-range 5.5-inch phablet are set to be launched in the near future as well, but with no exact dates yet.
