The new update for Nintendo's "Super Smash Bros." for the Wii U console features 15 new stages, Game Spot reported.
These new stages for update 1.0.2 are playable for the game's 8-player mode.
The new stages were added to "Super Smash Bros." to accommodate the number of players in the game since previous versions of the title felt too cramped for multiplayer settings.
Out of the 15 stages, nine are dedicated to the game's standard mode while the remaining six are for the Final Destination levels.
The names of the stages for standard mode are Mario Circuit (Brawl) , Luigi's Mansion, Pyrosphere, Norfair, Lylat Cruise, Pokemon Stadium, Animal Crossing - Town and City, Animal Crossing - Smashville and Wii Fit Studio.
As for the Final Destination stages, these include Mario Galaxy, Mario Circuit (Brawl), The Great Cave Offensive, Lylat Cruise, Pokemon Stadium 2 and Animal Crossing - Town and City.
"Super Smash Bros." 1.0.2 is currently available for download and players are required to update to the latest version in order to play it.
The Wii U version of the game was launched late last year, but Nintendo noted that players can still expect to see additional content to arrive in the near future. These include a new character downloadable content, a tournament mode and new stages, according to Eurogamer.
Although Nintendo promised to release new features for "Super Smash Bros." for the Wii U, game series creator Masahiro Sakurai recently hinted that he may no longer actively work on future installments of the series.
In his column in the gaming site Famitsu, Sakurai wrote that he had a hard time developing "Super Smash Bros." for the Wii U.
"It was very though this time around. I doubt I'll be able to go on making games if it continues like this," the game creator wrote as translated by Kotaku. "But, I consider myself lucky that so many people to enjoy ['Smash Bros.']."
