Brad Pitt is reportedly in talks to take on a leading role in his wife Angelina Jolie’s directorial work “Africa.” If confirmed, this will be the celebrity couple’s third collaboration in a movie.

The couple recently collaborated on “By The Sea”, the Academy Award-winning actress’ third feature while taking on directorial duties. The couple also starred in “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” in 2005, where they became acquainted with each other and fell in love, leading to their long-term partnership and, eventually, marriage in 2014.

Jolie’s next feature is expected to put Pitt in the role of famous archaeologist Richard Leakey, who is known for his commitment towards defending elephants against poachers in Kenya almost three decades ago.

The movie will reportedly have Roger Deakins as its cinematographer. Deakins also worked with Angelina in the biographical war drama film “Unbroken.” Aside from taking on directorial duties, the 39-year-old actress will also be producing the upcoming film.

Last year, Angelina worked on “Unbroken”, a biopic that focused on the story of Olympic runner Louis Zamperini, who was held as prisoner by Japanese soldiers during World War II. He was a Christian inspirational speaker who passed away last July 2, 2014.

Meanwhile, Pitt recently earned recognition for his leading role in the World War II film “Fury”, where he also served as the executive producer. The movie also brought together Shia LaBeouf, Logan Lerman, Jon Bernthal and Michael Peña.

Pitt was also an executive producer for historical drama film “Selma” directed by Ava DuVernay as well as the forthcoming movie “True Story” starring James Franco and Jonah Hill, which already made its debut at Sundance.

In their first movie together, “Mr. & Mrs. Smith”, Pitt and Jolie portrayed a married couple who discovered that they are both hired killers and tasked by competing agencies to eradicate each other.

In “By The Sea”, the power couple starred together as partners, who are having relationship problems, and decided to take a vacation as their last attempt to put their marriage back into place.
