House Passes Bill for Stricter Measures in Resettlement Process for Refugees from Syria and Iraq

The House of Representatives passed a bill on Thursday that would pause and add more security measures to the entry process for refugees from Syria and Iraq. It passed with a 289-137 vote. The bill, called the American Security Against Foreign Enemies (SAFE) Act of 2015, would require that the director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the director of national intelligence, and the Department of Homeland Security, all certify that each refugee from Syria and Iraq are not security threats to the U.S.READ MORE
