In more than one way, the upcoming ‘Wonder Woman’ movie is expected to play a significant part in the DC Cinematic Universe. The popular heroine could have a key role in setting up the foundation for the ‘Justice League’ movies where the superheroes will be faced by threats that go beyond Lex Luthor’s deceitful schemes.

In a recent interview with Collider, producer Charles Roven opened up about production and filming for ‘Wonder Woman.’

He shared that they are set to begin filming towards the end of November and also revealed that the two ‘Justice League’ movies will not be filmed back-to-back.

"We're making most of Wonder Woman [in the U.K.] and we're also making most of Justice League there," Roven explained. "JL One... We're definitely gonna be shooting Part One in the first or second quarter of next year."

After finishing their UK schedule, the cast and crew members of ‘Wonder Woman’ is expected to transfer to Basilicata in Italy that "many fans believe will double for the fictional Amazonian island of Themyscira," as stated by ComicBookMovie.

There have been scarce details about the plot of ‘Wonder Woman,’ hence the challenge to connect its storyline to ‘The Justice League (Part 1),’ which is set to be released soon after.

Director Zack Snyder previously mentioned the studio's plans when it comes to developing the DCU and dropped hints of how the ‘Wonder Woman’ script and storyline will support ‘Justice League.’

"The first thing we had was the Justice League concept. The other movies, in a way, have to support that,” Snyder told Empire Magazine earlier this year. That is our Wonder Woman, our Aquaman. They have their own creative concepts that supports them, but they do serve Justice League in the coming together of those heroes."

Meanwhile, Gal Gadot will make her debut as Wonder Woman in ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’, although the movie’s official trailer does not directly explain why Diana Prince plays a key role in the fight between the Man of Steel and the Dark Knight.

‘Wonder Woman’ makes its way to cinemas on June 23, 2017, while ‘Justice League: Part One’ is scheduled for an official release on Nov. 17, 2017. At an earlier date, ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ is set to hit theaters on Mar. 25, 2016.
