After playing Mystique in the current set of ‘X-Men’ movies, Jennifer Lawrence is now rumored to be joining another film that will expand the current Marvel Cinematic Universe experience. The actress recently opened up to Comic Book Resources and the news site mentioned that the ‘Hunger Games’ star is a rumored candidate for the new ‘Captain Marvel’ movie.

When asked if she would take interest in playing in the “MCU sandbox” with Marvel film actors such as Chris Pratt and Bradley Cooper, Lawrence offered a vague response but, nonetheless, showed her excitement if given the opportunity.

“Well, yes! I would love to play in a sandbox with those two!” the 25-year-old star said.

Although Lawrence did not point out any particular plan to sign on to a Marvel franchise, she has not ignored the possibility either. The Louisville, Kentucky native has already worked with Bradley Cooper in more than one film and has also been tapped to star opposite Chris Pratt in the upcoming ‘Passengers.’

If the award-winning actress aims to join Cooper and Pratt, she would have to be involved in the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ movies. While there have been casting announcements over the past weeks, there have been no reports of Lawrence being involved.

Lawrence recently made the headlines for sparking up a national conversation about gender pay inequality in Hollywood after penning an essay for Lena Dunham's Lenny newsletter, titled "Why Do I Make Less Than My Male Co Stars?"

"I don't see how I couldn't be inspired by this character. I mean I was so inspired by her when I read the books – it's the reason I wanted to play her," she said at a ‘Mockingjay – Part 2’ press conference when asked if her character, Katniss Everdeen, motivated her to raise her voice about the issue, as reported by Reuters.

She added, "So I think it would be impossible to go four years with this character and not be inspired by her."

Josh Hutcherson already expressed his support for his ‘Hunger Games’ franchise costar after she had written the essay.

"I thought it was incredible," he said. "I'm really proud of her, and happy."

Moreover, ‘American Hustle’ costar Cooper immediately came out in favor of Lawrence’s sentiments, promising to help out his female costars when it comes to negotiating more reasonable deals on future projects.

In the meantime, before any reports confirm that Lawrence does sign on to another Marvel film, her next appearance will be in ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay- Part 2’, which is set to hit theaters on Nov. 20.
