‘Teen Wolf’ executive producer Jeff Davis has recognized the possibility that Dylan O'Brien could leave the hit MTV series in the future owing to the 24-year-old actor's promising career in the film industry.

In an interview with Forbes magazine following the show's New York Comic Con panel last week, Davis admitted that he is allowing the possibility of saying goodbye to O'Brien "at some point."

"Cast shakeups happen more and more with every show these days. So, you never know," Davis explained. "The networks used to sign people up for seven seasons. The idea was, you can't lose anyone. Nowadays, it's who can you kill off next? It's very different."

After starring as Thomas in the 2014 dystopian sci-fi action thriller ‘The Maze Runner,’ O’Brien has become one of the young sought-after breakout stars with a promising future. He recently reprised his role for the second installment titled ‘Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials,’ and starred alongside Kaya Scodelario (‘Skins’), Thomas Brodie-Sangster (‘Game of Thrones’) and Will Poulter (‘The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader’), among others.

The NYC native, who takes on the role of Stiles Stilinski on ‘Teen Wolf,’ will make his next big-screen appearance in the disaster drama movie 'Deepwater Horizon,' alongside Mark Wahlberg, Kurt Russell and Gina Rodriguez among many others. Helmed by Peter Burg, the film makes its way to theaters on Sept. 30.

Despite his flourishing film career, O'Brien previously assured fans that he has no plans of leaving the show.

"I'm just very aware of what this show means to me, and I would never, by my own hand, say it's time for me to move on," the actor said. "I'm going to miss this show when it's over. Forever and ever this will be my first role, and that's so special. As long as the stories are still being told, I will have a hand in telling them."

Meanwhile, as ‘Teen Wolf’ season 5B premieres next year, fans can look forward to Scott’s (Tyler Posey) pack setting out for their mission to rescue Lydia out of Eichen House. Davis pointed out that the group’s success in setting the banshee free from the mental health facility will be greatly influenced by Stiles’ attempts.

The pack might also end up joining forces with Theo and offer him a treaty to fight against a common enemy known as The Beast, a gruesome successful chimera.

"Your pack and mine, we're going to be fighting for our lives," Theo tells Scott in the trailer.

MTV’s ‘Teen Wolf’ Season 5B is scheduled to premiere on Jan. 5, 2016 and will now air every Tuesday at 9 p.m.
