Despite a pending rape investigation, American NHL player Patrick Kane is listed as one of 36 forwards expected to attend the 2015 Chicago Blackhawks preseason training camp at the University of Notre Dame on Friday, Sept. 18. Kane is three-time Stanley Cup winner.

The Blackhawks released a list of all players on Wednesday, Sept. 16. The team is expected to report to camp on Thursday. They will begin training at Notre Dame’s Compton Family Ice Arena in South Bend, Indiana on Friday at 10 a.m. ET.

“All players listed on the roster released are expected to attend camp,” stated The Blackhawks official website.

The Blackhawks will have a Training Camp Festival on Monday, Sept. 21 and will play their first preseason game against the Detroit Redwings at the United Center on Tuesday, Sept. 22 at 7:30 p.m. ET.

The Buffalo News reported on Aug. 6 that Kane is being investigated by Hamburg police for sexually assaulting a young woman. 26-year-old Kane left SkyBar, a night club with a male friend and two young women on Aug. 2 at 3 a.m. The group left the bar to have a private party at Kane’s home in Hamburg.

One of the women reported to the police that she was raped by Kane when she walked into a room in Kane’s home by herself. The woman called a relative, who told Buffalo News that she had sounded “frantic” and “traumatized.” The alleged victim left Kane’s home to go to the hospital at approximately 4 a.m, where she received an examination with a rape exam kit. The woman reportedly had a scratch on her leg and bite marks on her shoulder.

The case is being investigated by District Attorney Frank A. Sedita III and the Hamburg police. The woman and Kane were scheduled to appear in court before a grand jury on Sept. 8, but the court date was postponed by Sedita.
