A new leak indicates the upcoming Galaxy S6 Edge Plus from Samsung will sport a 16-megapixel main camera.

If this is true, then it would seem that the upcoming device will share another feature with the South Korean tech firm's current flagship smartphones.

The latest leak shows a screenshot from Zauba, India's online database for imported and exported items.

According to GSM Arena, the camera module of the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus passed through the site because it was sent to India for testing.

The database, however, did not reveal too much information regarding the module. It only mentioned that it will have a 16-megapixel setting and a 1 /2.6" sensor. Also, Zauba noted that the device came from China and was shipped with 500 units. Each item was priced at around $19.

The site also indicated that the camera modules will be used on the SM-G928 device, which is the expected model number of the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, as pointed out by Phone Arena.

Zauba's recent post indicates that the upcoming handset will sport a similar feature as the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge variants, which also feature the same rear camera configuration.

This does not come as a surprise since the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus is expected to mirror some of the specs and design aspects of Samsung's current flagship models. Previously leaked images of the unreleased device already showed that it will look like the Galaxy S6 Edge variant.

The main difference between the three devices, however, is that the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus will be bigger. Although it's rumored to be a phablet device, it is not yet confirmed if it will come with a 5.5 or 5.7-inch display.

In terms of its hardware, some sources are reporting that it may be equipped with the same Exynos 7420 chipset found on the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge while others say it will be powered by a Snapdragon 808 processor. Rumors also suggest that it may come with a newer Exynos chip.

Various reports also indicate that the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus will have a bigger RAM than the Galaxy S6 and its Edge variant at 4GB.

As to when users can expect to see Samsung's newest phablet, the company has not yet announced an official launch date for the device.

However, according to numerous sources, the company might debut the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus along with the Galaxy Note 5 on August 13 during an event dubbed as Unpacked.

Digital Trends reported that Samsung only uses this name for special launch events of its high-end devices.
