Amid the infidelity rumors flung left and right, it appears that yet another reason has been unearthed with respect to the recently announced divorce of country superstars Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert: their careers - more specifically, the "Neon Lights'" stint in "The Voice."

As both parties try to go on with their lives following the breakdown of their marriage, speculations once again arose as to the potential cause of their split and TMZ reports that working as a judge and mentor in the reality talent show further put a strain to the couple's relationship. According to the report, Lambert felt like an "abandoned wife" as Shelton went off to fulfill his duties as a judge in "The Voice" which holds its events in Los Angeles. As TMZ points out, the "Something Bad" singer "hates" the said city but still visits from time to time in an effort to see her then hubby. As widely known by fans and followers of the show, the country singer has been a staple part of the TV series since 2011 along with "Maroon 5" front man Adam Levine.

As if the issue of distance and lack of time were not enough, Hollywood Life further reveals that Shelton has been hounded by infidelity rumors in relation to the female contestants who become his mentees. Although these rumors have been persistently reported on throughout the years of his marriage with Lambert, none has been proven and an exclusive source tells Hollywood Life that there is no truth behind those accusations. "He is more of a father figure than anything else to his contestants and anything sexual is nonexistent," reveals an insider. The source adds, "It's just not happening at all. He is and has been completely professional the whole time."

Meanwhile, other new details such as Lambert's plea to have a "trial separation" first before officially filing for a divorce. This request, however, was turned down by Shelton who felt that the marriage was going nowhere and the relationship needed to end, according to PEOPLE Magazine. "She wanted to try and make it work, maybe have more of a separation," a close friend of the couple told the media outlet. The source added, "But he said, 'I'm filing.'"
