It looks like bad blood might come in between pop star Taylor Swift and rapper Nicki Minaj as the two artists are embroiled in a social media over the MTV VMAs.

Moments after learning that her music video for "Anaconda" received no nods from the award giving body, Minaj took to Twitter to vent her disappointment and frustration, according to The Guardian. "If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year," the "Super Bass" singer wrote in her social media page.

While Minaj made no mention at all of any artist in her Twitter rant, it appears that the rapper touched a nerve. Within minutes, Swift herself responded to the post and said, "@NICKIMINAJ I've done nothing but love & support you. It's unlike you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot."xpressing her confusion with regard the message of the "Blank Space" singer, the "Bang Bang" artist went on to clarify her stance. She wrote, "Huh? U must not be reading my tweets. Didn't say a word about u. I love u just as much. But u should speak on this. @taylorswift13"

In an effort to patch things up, Swift resorted to comforting the disappointed Minaj and even made her an offer she could not refuse. The "Shake It Off" singer said, "@NICKIMINAJ If I win, please come up with me!!" She added, "You're invited to any stage I'm ever on."

Prior to this exchange, Minaj responded to one of her fans who shared that the "strength and confidence" of the rapper are inspiring. While the message from the said Twitter user was encouraging, the "Starships" singer pointed out that her confidence wavers from time to time. The artist wrote, "I'm not always confident.  Just tired. Black women influence pop culture so much but are rarely rewarded for it." With the recent snub of her work by MTV, the message seemed to be alluding to her feelings towards the situation.

Tuesday saw the disclosure of the nominees for the 2015 MTV VMAs. Swift came out with nine nominations including one for video of the year for her latest song, "Bad Blood," which featured a bunch of her Hollywood friends. Swift's recent music video, which was rumored to be an ode to her feud with fellow pop star Katy Perry, starred her celebrity buddies such as Selena Gomez, Cara Delavigne, Ellie Goulding and Lena Dunham.
