Everyone knows that LeBron James can lead the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA, but can he lead an entire cast and crew in Hollywood? LeBron James is in it to win it on basketball courts and on the big screen. He said he wants to make his directorial debut for the sequel of ‘Trainwreck’ on an episode of sketch comedy ‘Funny or Die.’ James bounced ideas off of co-stars Amy Schumer and Bill Hader and director Judd Apatow on Monday, July 13.

In "Trainwreck: The Sequel Starring Amy Schumer and LeBron James, But Not Bill Hader,” James drives the main stars and director in a navy blue convertible around in his hometown Akron, Ohio. Instead of taking them to premiere of ‘Trainwreck’ at a local movie theater, he takes a minor detour to his favorite burger joint Swensons. He takes his passengers through a drive-thru.

James pitches his ideas for the upcoming sequel of ‘Trainwreck.’ He asks, what if Hader “corks over” from an illness at the beginning of the film. Schumer asks if the movie is about her grieving for Aaron. James answers that they both attend Aaron’s funeral and he is “the shoulder that she cries on.” While Hader is not won over by this idea at all, Schumer and Apatow appear to be open to the idea of a budding love connection between James and Schumer in the sequel.

Hader asks if he can appear throughout the film as a ghost. James cuts him off and says that Hader has his first part and then it is basically over for him in the sequel. Apatow suggests that they shoot it with a handheld camera, at which James says that he think he should direct it. Apatow wonders if he will end up producing the film. Apatow retorts that James will be too busy with the upcoming basketball season to direct.

Hader climbs out of the car and falls to the ground. James comments that could be the way Hader dies in ‘Trainwreck 2.’ With Hader gone, Apatow tells James and Schumer that he felt the chemistry between the pair while filming the first movie. The episode ends with Apatow offering to “co-direct” alongside James.

The actual film revolves around a commitment-phobic woman who finally meets her match in a sports doctor. ‘Trainwreck’ stars LeBron James as himself, Amy Schumer as Amy, and Bill Hader as Dr. Aaron Conners. Other notable cameos to look forward to in the film are Daniel Radcliffe, Randall Park, and Dave Attell. The film premieres in theaters on Friday, July 17.
