"Once Upon A Time" promises a spectacularly unpredictable fifth season especially in light of the "Black Swan" storyline which sees Emma, played by Jennifer Morrison, turn into the Dark One in a swift act of heroism. Discussing the possibilities of the events that will unravel next season, the executive producers of "Once Upon Time," dish out on the exciting things in store for fans and followers of the widely popular TV series, according to Entertainment Weekly.

In the special comic-con edition of Entertainment Weekly's "Hot Seat" segment, Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis reveal some details on what viewers can expect in Season 5 of "Once Upon A Time." The finale of Season 4 featured Emma throwing herself in the throes of potential death in an effort to spare the life of her once mortal enemy, Regina (Lana Parrilla), who could have lost her shot at a happy ending without the said sacrifice. Her martyrdom, however, yielded an unexpected result as she later on harbored the powers of the Dark One - thereby gaining the title, "Dark Swan."

Needless to say, Emma's transformation will definitely affect the lives of those close to her. One of the most highly questioned character in relation to this change is Captain Hook (Colin O'Donoghue), the love interest of the new Dark One. Given that he had been part of the dark side in the past, the executive producers were asked on whether Hook will decide to revert to his previous persona since he no longer has Emma to keep him grounded to the good side. Kitsis replied, "I think he has a great reason to stay good and that is to save the woman that he loves." He added, "I hope he holds on."

Meanwhile, Regina could also be tempted to once again become the evil queen especially with her newfound bond with Emma. Having such immense power close to her, could this mean that Regina will throw out her progress towards achieving a pure heart and go back to her evil ways? Kitsis said, "I think we're always tempted." He went on to say, "It's always more fun to hang out with someone who is willing to get into trouble than the person that won't."

While the battle for power and shift in control will be interesting, "Once Upon A Time" has yet to delve into the personal development of Henry (Jared Gilmore) in terms of living the life of a typical pre-pubescent boy. Asked on whether Emma's son will soon have a love interest, the executive producers appeared optimistic. Kitsis answered, "I hope so, but he's an awkward, young child." He went on to reveal, "Like all 13-year-old boys, they have to navigate their way through the minefield of first dating."

"Once Upon A Time" Season 5 will hit the small screen on September 27, 2015
