With the announcement of the actor to take on the titular role for the "Spider-Man" reboot finally making it to the news, fans and followers of the franchise are now curious as to when the web slinger will be first seen. In a report by Variety, it was revealed that Peter Parker will be making a cameo appearance in Marvel's upcoming flick, "Captain America 3: Civil War."

The widely speculated role landed in the hands of English actor Tom Holland following months of speculation on the actor to don the Spider-Man suit. Prior to the official announcement of Holland's casting, Asa Butterfield (Ender's Game) was said to have landed it. While Holland is deemed to be less known than Butterfield, it looks like the former will be quickly boosting his resume as he is set to appear in the next Captain America film alongside blockbuster actors Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, and Robert Downey, Jr.

"Holland will report immediately to the set of the currently shooting Captain America: Civil War, which Marvel has scheduled for a May 6, 2016, release and in which the newest Spider-Man will make his first onscreen appearance," wrote Gregg Kilday of The Hollywood Reporter.

Meanwhile, it is no secret that Marvel is working hand in hand with Sony in the reboot of Spider-Man. Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel Studios, also shared that Holland's flick will be receiving the same treatment as the other film's under the company's belt such as "Iron Man" and "Avengers."

"Well, we're producing it for Sony. It's exciting, and we're treating it like we treat all of our films," Feige tells The Hollywood Reporter." He adds, "To try to make the best version now of Spider-Man and a version of Spider-Man that inhabits this universe that we've created. We're in lockstep with [Sony Motion Picture Group chairman] Tom Rothman and [producer] Amy Pascal at every turn."

Since Holland's Spider-Man is already confirmed to appear in "Captain America 3: Civil War," Feige disclosed that the other superheroes in the Marvel Universe will likely be featured in Peter Parker's storyline as well.

Apart from the announcement that Holland will be taking on the lead role, Marvel also disclosed that the Spider-Man reboot has found its director. Feige, in the interview with Variety, revealed that the studio has chosen Jon Watts to helm the 2017 flick. The same was confirmed by the chairman of Sony, Tom Rothman, in a press release.

"I've worked with a number of up-and-coming directors who have gone on to be superstars and believe that Jon is just such an outstanding talent," Rothman stated. He added, "For Spidey himself, we saw many terrific young actors, but Tom's screen tests were special. All in all, we are off to a roaring start."
