FOX announced that ‘American Idol’ will be cut after Season 15. The reality singing competition television series is currently on its 14th season. Current judges of the show are Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urbans, and Harry Connick, Jr. Ryan Seacrest is the host and Scott Borchetta is a mentor on the series.

"Yes, next year will be our final season of American Idol. This show's been a big part of my life for so long, it's hard to imagine it without it. I was 27 when we started idol...just a kid," said Seacrest on Monday, May 11.

Past judges of ‘American Idol’ are Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj, Randy Jackson, Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, Kara DioGuardi, Ellen DeGeneres, and Steven Tyler.

Winners from ‘American Idol’ have gone on to having successful careers in singing. Past winners of the series in order are Kelly Clarkson, Ruben Studdard, Fantasia Barrino, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Hicks, Jordin Sparks, David Cook, Kris Allen, Lee Dewyze, Scotty McCreery, Phillip Phillips, Candice Glover, and Caleb Johnson. The winners of Season 14 and Season 15 are yet to be determined.

Winners of the contest receive a recording deal with a major record company and receives a management contract. Past winners of the show are reported to have made at least $1 million in their first year after winning. Other finalists have also gone on to having recording contracts or going on tour. Past judges and contestants will make appearances on Season 15.

Season 14 Top 3 Preview:

Clark Beckham, Nick Fradiani, and Jax are the three contestants that remain in the reality singing competition. Beckham will sing “Beautiful Day,” “Sittin’ On the Dock of the Bay,” and “Earned It.” Fradiani will sing “Because the Night,” “Back Home,” and “I’ll Be.” Jax will sing “My Generation,” “My Immortal,” and “Misery Business.” ‘American Idol’ Season 14 Top 3 airs on Tuesday, May 12 on FOX at 9|8c.

Rayvon Owen was eliminated from the Top 4 on May 6. He sang “Need You Now” and “Believe” from the Judges’ Hometown and Soul choices. The Top 2 will perform on Tuesday, May 19. The lineup includes Simon Fuller’s Choice, Favorite Performace, and Winner’s Circle.
