LG is definitely taking its sweet time in announcing its latest Android flagship. But it seems the time for the great reveal is sooner than expected.

According to a report by Android Authority, several leaked images of the unannounced flagship have been spotted in the wild. The images came from an XDA forum member, though the report did not confirm whether s/he is affiliated with the Korean manufacturer.

In the images, the device will allegedly pack the same button setup at the back. This includes the volume buttons and the power button. The images show that they are colored solid black, compared to previous models.

In addition, the back casing of the alleged LG G4 looks like it is a brushed metal chassis that is the same as the LG G3. However, the report mentioned that one cannot completely distinguish whether this is actually metal or durable plastic with a metallic finish.

Another interesting feature that was pointed out was the small portion at the top right of the LG device. In the report, this could be either a TV antenna, or the stylus that LG has filed a patent for by the end of 2014.

The few remaining leaked images showed the LG handset's settings menu, and the home screen, which the report emphasized to be a lot similar to the LG G3 launched last year. The company CEO himself claimed that the manufacturer has done its part in improving the UI for its own Android Skin.

However, even after all the hype caused by the leaked images, the device might not be the LG G4.

A user named AceofZeroz stated in a comment that the LG G3's bezels were so slim, especially on the sides. Meanwhile, the device that was seen with the leaked images appears to have thicker side bezels.

In previous reports, LG is rumored to launch the LG G4, as well as another lineup, which allegedly replaces the G Pro family.

Dubbed as the LG G4 Note, this handset is reportedly aimed at the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, the iPhone 6 Plus, the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro, and potentially the HTC One M9+ when it gets announced a few days from now.

Earlier this year, the Korean phone maker decided to miss the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas and the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona to announce new high-end devices. Last year, LG unveiled the G3 by the end of May, so the G4's release may be around that period as well.
