The Korean American Scholarship Foundation of Greater Washington will be offering scholarships once again this year to seminary students who desire to serve the second and third generation Korean Americans.

The Foundation, which was initially started by 'mothers' about 30 years ago, receives donations from various organizations and individuals, and uses those donations to give scholarships to seminary students. The Foundation has since then been able to give generous amounts to seminarians, including a total of $13,900 worth of scholarships to nine recipients in 2013.

"Our mission is to provide scholarship to future Korean American pastors," the Foundation states. "Let us continue and support our children by investing in what matters most -- 'faith' to our children!"

The applicant must be a baptized Christian and living a Christ-like life; he or she must have completed college and be currently enrolled or have plans of attending a state-approved theological seminary; have a clear purpose to serve second and third generation Korean Americans; and have a permanent resident or citizenship legal status.

Along with an application, the applicant must also provide a photo, an application letter, a transcript from the current or last attended school, a testimony of faith, two recommendation letters, and some documentation to confirm legal status and income.

The application is due on April 15, 2015. For more information, visit kapastorscholarship.org.
