After the One M9 was announced earlier this week, a new handset is rumored to make its way to the market soon.

According to a report by Phone Arena, a new Android-powered device will be on its way to China by the end of the month.

Previously dubbed as the HTC A55, the handset will be officially named as the One E9 and will boast even higher specs compared to the freshly-announced flagship.

Fortunately, those 'higher' specs are only limited to the rumored 5.5-inch display with QHD or 2K (2560 x 1440) resolution. Meanwhile, other specs are pretty decent including the 3GB RAM, a MediaTek MT6795 chipset, octa-core CPU running at 2.0GHz, and 32GB of built-in memory.

In addition, the device will also reportedly feature a 20MP shooter as well, and a 4MP UltraPixel camera in front.

In the report, the HTC One E9 will run on the company's Sense 7.0 UI on top of Android 5.0 Lollipop. For people who are wondering where the rumor came from, Twitter user @upleaks was the one responsible for providing some of th juicy details of the unannounced handset.

The report also mentioned that while the HTC One E9 will initially make its debut in China, it is still unclear whether the handset would be available elsewhere. For those looking for a tentative price tag, the E9 could be a much cheaper version of the M9.

Last year, the Taiwanese manufacturer unveiled the One E8 a few months after the One M8 hit the market. The device boasted exactly the same design as the flagship model, but uses a polycarbonate plastic cover instead. In addition, the device has a 13MP primary shooter compared to the One M8's dismal 4MP UltraPixel shooters.

HTC may be aiming to bank on the success of this device to launch a better version of the One E lineup this year.
