Homeland Season 4 ended with followers not having a clue of what will happen next. Will Carrie be able to save Quinn? Has Saul shifted sides? Who will be the real enemy in Season 5?

With Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) and the entire crew flown back to the United States from Islamabad, things were a little shaky when everyone got back and left everyone hanging, and it is quite hard to tell what will happen next.

The last few episodes of season 4 included some emotional roller coaster rides for Carrie, with the death of her father, re-appearance of her long lost mother, her discovery of a half-brother, and her feelings for Quinn.

According to reports, the awesome writers of the CIA inspired TV series may be heading back to Washington, DC for the season premiere of Homeland Season Five.

"I think a show with this amount of political and narrative complexity can do a last episode that has a change of pace. I thought they needed to do an episode back in Washington, and needed to deal with Carrie's family situation and her issues with motherhood," Showtime president David Nevins said.

Nevin had also made it clear that the Homeland cast won't be returning to Pakistan next season.

Here are some details that somewhat answer our questions for Homeland Season 5:

Will Carrie and Quinn see each other again?

"My preference is that I'm not into the artificially elongated 'will they or won't they.' If you want to do it, go for it. Don't be cute," Nevin told Entertainment Weekly.

It looks like we will find out soon after Season 5 has launched.

Is Lockhart coming back?

Season 4 ended with Lockhart (Tracy Letts) in hot water. The agency was looking for his replacement as CIA Chief Officer and it seemed like he won't be back in the next episode. He handed his resignation last season, and no one has given a clue if he will be returning for the fifth season.

Carrie and Saul

It is hard to tell if these two are working together or not. They have been partners in crime for so many times, and it is quite unlikely for them not to be on the same boat. According to rumors, Carrie and Saul may be working together to take on Dar Adal, whom Carrie saw with Haqqani.

The team may also steer clear of Islamic terrorists focus for its fifth season, according to sources. Homeland Season 5 might premiere on September or October 2015.
