Korean churches from all over American including New York, that focus on evangelism targeting Native Americans gathered at on the 21st at Crossing Kumkangsan Banquet Hall to form the new “North American Indians Mission Organization”. The new group will be overseeing and assisting Korean churches who send missionaries to Native American communities.
So far, Korean Churches in New York have been sending workers from in New Jersey, Boston, Dalloway, Philadelphia, and Springfield to Indian Reservation Areas in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and upstate New York. However, Pastor Gi-ho Kim explained that there was a need for a larger organization to oversee all the different ministries and expand their foundations.
The inception ceremony which took place on the 21st was led by Pastor Gi-ho Kim from Chungang Church in New York. Pastor Sukhyung Kim of the Korean Evangelical Church of Long Island gave message with the title, “Vision for Missions”. The theme of his message for that day was Acts 16:6-10. He mainly focused on the fact that God has already given everyone a desire to spread the Gospel and we are all obligated to share our blessings with everyone.
The North American Indians Missions Organization will hold a conference at Promise Church on the 23rd of March, and will begin collaborated mission trips to the Indian Reservation Areas starting from August.
