Two church spires on top of the Sweetest Heart of Mary Church in Detroit are finally restored after three years. Larry Wilk told Click on Detroit that "we started in August 2017 and I'm happy to say we completed the project roughly two weeks ago." Although it has been a long time coming, Wilk volunteered for this three-year project after his 92-year-old mother demanded him to. "She contacted me three years ago, August of 2017, with some very sad news that the spires were going to be torn down. The biblical-era fortress, which dates back to the 12th century B.C., was discovered in Israel. Israel Antiquities Authority reported that the 3,200-year-old fortress was likely built by the ancient Canaanite civilization to protect against Philistine invaders. The fortification measures 59 feet by 59 feet with watchtowers in each of its four corners. Pottery vessels, likely used in religious rituals, were also discovered in the fortress' former rooms. The North Valley Baptist Church in Santa Clara has been fined $15,000 for holding indoor services in violation of the county health order. It was the largest corona virus related fines levied in Santa Clara County. The county issued the church two $5,000 fines last Sunday for holding indoor morning and evening services, violating health order, and was fined another $5,000 again on Wednesday for another in-person-service. Baylor University did a study and found out "Amazonian tribes burn just as many calories as the average American youngsters." According to Baylor University, the cause of obesity is likely a poor diet and not poor fitness, which challenges current theories about the reason for obesity. Baylor University studied about 50,000 Shuar people living in the isolated Amazon region of Ecuador and gathered data using the isotope-tracking and respirometry collection method. The Shuar do not have access to grocery stores and labor-saving technology; therefore, they are relying on fishing, hunting, foraging and small-scale agriculture. READ MORE

Pastor Andy Stanley of Atlanta's North Point Community Church announced that his church decided to suspend services until 2021. Regarding that issue, some members accused him of "bowing to Caesar" and "left-wing, Marxist agenda" Christian Post reported that Pastor Andy Stanley uploaded a video explaining why he is suspending the service. He said the decision was based on the true stance of the Christian faith. In the video, the Pastor says "We did not suspend services because of government pressure; there was none. Trump said God told him that He's going to have him rebuild "the greatest economy in the history of the world" again. President Donald Trump announced that his younger brother Robert Trump, 71, died Saturday August 15th at a New York hospital. Throughout the month, there have been many protests in Portland which led to several violent accidents. Last Sunday night, August 16th, a white man was dragged down from his truck and got beat till he passed out. At 10:30 PM, the crowd surrounded the truck that crashed into the light pole at Southwest Broadway and Taylor Street. According to the report, the rioters and protestors pulled the white man out of the vehicle violently and forced him to sit in the street.
