Vitae Foundation and LIFE Runners are hosting America's First Pro-Life Half Marathon/5K on Sunday, Nov. 9, 2014, at Katy Trail State Park in Jefferson City, Mo. Registration will begin at 7 a.m., with the races beginning at 8 a.m. The cost is $55 for the half marathon and $25 for the 5K and both include a historic event shirt if you register before October 17. In a news conference today on the campus of missionary organization SIM USA (www.simusa.org), Nancy Writebol, joined by her husband, David, shared for the first time details of her battle with the Ebola virus. Three SIM missionaries serving in Liberia during the recent Ebola virus outbreak returned to the United States late Sunday night. They flew into Charlotte-Douglas International Airport by private charter and arrived at 10:16 p.m. Among the three is David Writebol, husband of SIM missionary Nancy Writebol, who is being treated for Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta. The other two missionaries are SIM doctors who have been treating Ebola patients at SIM's ELWA medical facilities in Monrovia, Liberia. Their names are being withheld at this time to protect their privacy and that of their families.READ MORE

The condition of Nancy Writebol, a missionary who recently contracted Ebola while serving in Liberia, has worsened, according to SIM, the Christian missions organization with which she serves. She continues her battle against the deadly virus. Writebol was serving alongside Dr. Kent Brantly on a joint team of people with Samaritan's Purse and SIM when they contracted Ebola.READ MORE
