Aiming to provide resources to those who hope to become homeowners in Southern California, a non-profit will be hosting an informational homeownership fair for the 16th time.

The homeownership fair, hosted by Korean Churches for Community Development (KCCD), will take place at the Southwestern Law School on Saturday, July 8 from 9 AM to 1 PM.

“Our organization has been around since 2001 and hosted the first homeownership fair ever for the Korean community in U.S. history,” said Hyepin Im, the president of KCCD.

Im added she hopes the fair will be an opportunity for those who are interested in homeownership to learn of the various resources and options available to them, and for them to “know what to avoid so [they] don’t become [victims] of homeownership discrimination.” KCCD, which will soon be changing its name to Faith and Community Empowerment (FACE), has helped more than 8,800 potential home buyers since its beginnings.

Real estate agents, banks, and other professionals will be present at the fair, and potential homebuyers will be able to learn more about down payment assistance programs, special loan products, and how to fix, increase, and optimize credit at a seminar during the fair.

Elected officials Ed Chau, Assemblymember for the 49th District, and Los Angeles Deputy Mayor Brenda Shockley will also be attending the event.
