For the second time, the Full Gospel Fasting Prayer Mountain, located in Romoland, CA, will be hosting a youth retreat for those youth in Korean immigrant churches that are not able to host their own summer youth retreats.
This year’s retreat is themed, “Discover in Christ,” and will be taking place from July 24 to 26 at the Full Gospel Fasting Prayer Mountain. Rev. David Kim from Full Gospel Korean Church of Hopewell in Virginia will be featured as the main speaker, and the retreat will include worship, seminars, and recreational and outdoor activities.
Students in middle and high school (grades 6 to 12 as of September 2017) are welcome to attend the retreat. However, the free event will only be open to the first 120 individuals to register. Those who are interested can find more information about registration at www.lafgc.com.
The Full Gospel Fasting Prayer Mountain began hosting this non-denominational, joint youth retreat for the first time in 2016 with the aim to serve the local Korean immigrant churches. As many of these churches face challenges such as financial difficulties, a lack of students, or a lack of teachers, the Full Gospel Fasting Prayer Mountain decided to roll up its sleeves to provide this resource for such churches.
During the first retreat in 2016, 85 students from nine denominations and 21 churches attended. LA Full Gospel Church (LAFGC) took care of all costs, and teachers, teaching assistants, and volunteers from LAFGC served the youth. Speakers at the retreat included Dr. John Kim, the founder of Jesus Awakening Movement for America, and Sarah Kim, the president of TVNEXT.
